Semiconductor devices are components made up of small crystals of silicon semiconductor designed to carry out a number of electronic functions in an integrated circuit. The semiconductor industry manufactures a huge variety of integrated circuits (IC’s) with different packaging requirements. The packaging, typically made of metal or ceramic, is designed to protect the semiconductor from damage and contamination.

With low sealing temperatures and programmable electrode force, Amada Miyachi’s resistance welding systems are specifically designed for sealing sensitive semiconductor packages. They can even be integrated into atmospheric enclosures for sealing in moisture/particle free environments. Semiconductor applications are also ideally suited for laser marking and laser micro-machining processes.
